Where can you find 8+ hours of awesome talks about web design, data mining, HTML5, UI design, cloud storage, and other geeky topics? The Wharton Web Conference at the University of Pennsylvania (now in it’s 5th year)! Steve Wozniak is giving the keynote address and the rest of the schedule is loaded with great names, including Nicole Sullivan, Abby Covert, and Philadelphia’s own Jessica Ivins (of Happy Cog) and Alex Hillman (of IndyHall).

The Wharton Web Conference is for anyone who cares about improving user experience, whether they be programmers, designers, project managers, or members of the general public who are interested in design. A number of Web Start Women attended the conference last year and found it a valuable experience. In the words of one attendee:

“I’m attending for the 2nd year. I got a lot out of the conference agenda last year—I still am using the resources that were discussed and presented. The discussion at the one WordPress session turned out to be a supreme time saver for me. Looking forward to another valuable experience in 2012.” ~Lisa Snyder

An exciting addition to this year’s program is the Tech Expo Happy Hour, billed as “fun and interesting things you can learn about with a beer in one hand and a plate of food in the other.” Topics will include responsive web design, augmented reality, virtual development environments, and gamification.
